Camp Canberra: By the Smart and Excellent Students of Mount Mayhem Primary School
The great Canberra school excursion, told by the kids of Mount Mayhem Primary.
Almost every Australian kid does the Canberra school camp, and Camp Canberra turns that rite of passage into a giggle. Told through the eyes of the "smart and excellent students of Mount Mayhem Primary School" and illustrated by the wonderful Cathy Wilcox, it captures the coach trip, the landmarks, the museum queues and the sheer chaos of a class let loose on the national capital. It is the ideal gift for a child about to make the trip, a souvenir for one who just has, or a knowing chuckle for the teacher who has chaperoned one too many. Warm, funny and genuinely Canberran, it is the book that makes the excursion of passage something a family reads together long after the bus has gone home.
